Epson reopens upgraded Inkjet Innovation Lab

A couple of weeks after announcing it would phase out laser MFPs to focus on inkjet, Epson has reopened its Fujimi Inkjet Innovation Lab with new features including direct-to-surface colour inkjet printers and new facilities for testing Epson’s inkjet printheads. In October, the company announced plans to triple its production capacity of PrecisionCore printheads.

AiG sees ‘Signs of a slowdown’: demand drags down manufacturing

Ai Group’s Australia’s Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) fell 4.9 points to 44.7 in November following three months of stability. Readings below 50 points indicate contraction in activity. The Textiles, clothing, footwear, paper & printing sector “declined precipitously to be in serious contraction.”

Viva Absentia? Mixed reviews for Pantone’s Color of the Year

Pantone’s Color of the Year is Viva Magenta 18-1750 but  is lifeless 'In Absentia' to many former Adobe users. The announcement has attracted less favourable reviews from some users over Pantone’s falling out with Adobe and its recent introduction of subscription charges. "The colour of a graphic designer's burst blood vessels as we try to navigate frustration caused by the Adobe/Pantone fiasco," wrote one.
