Mick Harrold becomes new president of ASGA

IVE posts $20m H1 profit after 12% increase in revenue

IVE Group reported $20.9 million in net profit for the first half of FY22, after a 12% increase in revenue to $382 million, despite uncertain conditions caused by Covid and supply chain challenges. IVE's recently acquired wide format businesses Active and AFI Branding are on track to generate $45 million a year in revenue.

Konica Minolta names new CEO: 'urgent' need to turn around print business

Print giant says the business environment surrounding the company has changed "dramatically” since the Covid outbreak. In naming Toshimitsu Taiko as its new president and CEO, Konica Minolta said turning around its core businesses of office and production print was now “an urgent management issue.”

Ovato posts $17m H1 profit after selling marketing & magazine distribution businesses

Ovato's statutory profit for the half-year ended 31 December 2021 was $17.6m, up $27.3m compared to the prior year. Sales of $161.4m were down $75.2m pcp [or 31.8%] - with $55.3m of the reduction due to the sale of its marketing services and magazine distribution businesses and the closure of its letterbox distribution unit in Australia.

Waratah liquidator goes after suburban print shop

The liquidator, Shane Deane of Dye&Co, of failed Melbourne print group Waratah Group - the convoluted Group of several printers that went bust in March 2020 owing an estimated $22 million amid claims of corruption and backhanders - has lodged a wind-up application on Oakleigh, Vic family printer Genuine Print. With larger targets such as Australia Post, Spotlight Group and St Vincent's Hospital disputing phantom invoices, it appears that the liquidator is going for a 'soft' target.
