Entry to the FESPA 2007 Premier Awards Competition, which recognises excellence in screen printing and wide-format digital imaging, is now open. All printers who are members of national screen printing associations affiliated to FESPA (the SGIAA) or are FESPA Individual Members can enter, with some industrial categories also being open to non-members.

Agfa Graphics have announced the :Dotrix TransColor, an inkjet colour printer that adds high-quality colour to high-speed printing. A powerful IPDS (Intelligent Printer Data Stream) controller combines with single-pass printing engines, high-resolution inkjet technology (900dpi), 650mm width and UV curable inks and print both side simultaneously. Letterheads Oz, the Australian letterheads events, are held in a different state each year, the last one being at Burrawang in the NSW Highlands in October 2006, hosted by Bob Harper's Vogue Signs.

Deanna Singhal, research associate at the Traffic Injury Research Foundation, a driving safety group in Ottawa, believes that not only do digital billboards keep drivers' eyes away from the road more, but that they are also more "cognitively demanding." A study commissioned by the Federal Highway Administration has recommended more research into whether the signs present risks to drivers, and the federal government has also allotted $150,000 for a study of digital signage.
