Spicers update: 8% rise in Epson ink prices

Supplier Spicers has informed its customers there will be an 8% price increase on Epson inks from the 1st October 2021. Epson Australia has confirmed it has adjusted ink SKU pricing, but maintained hardware prices.

Two-week vaccine deadline extension for NSW hotspot workers

Authorised workers from local government areas (LGAs) of concern in Sydney now have until 19 September to get vaccinated to allow them to continue to work outside of the LGA they live in, provided they’ve booked their COVID-19 vaccination by 8 September. Ovato posts $67m loss in 'transformational' 2021

ASX-listed print business Ovato recorded a net loss of $67.1 million for 2021, an improvement of $41.7 million on the previous year. Net debt of $39.8 million at June 2021 was $33.1 million better than 2020, as Covid continued to impact sales.

 Late changes to 'ill-conceived' Sydney worker permit plan

NSW has adjusted work permit requirements for authorised workers in Sydney Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Concern after unions warned that thousands of workers wouldn’t be able to get their first vaccination in time. The first vaccination deadline for authorised workers has now been pushed back to Friday 6 September. NSW has also removed the option of rapid antigen testing.

Latest issue of Labels Plus is out now - free online!

The August-September issue of Australia's and New Zealand's leading label and packaging magazine, Labels Plus - at 92 pages the largest pagination of any current graphic arts print publication- is out now online and on the way in print. It was to have previewed the Label & Packaging Expo in conjunction with PacPrint, but the shows were postponed until June 2022. Nevertheless, it's packed with news on narrow web, both digital and conventional.

HP, AGFA continue recovery from Covid

Print giant HP recorded net revenue of $US15.3 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2021, up 7.0% from the prior-year period. Belgian technology manufacturer Agfa’s EBITDA increased from 15 million Euro in Q1 2021 to 40 million Euro in Q2 2021.
