Former Canon VP David Preskett will be responsible for management of the commercial, service support and financial performance of the business across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asian Pacific territories, said digital finishing solutions manufacturer Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS).

Based in the UK, David joins Kongsberg PCS from Canon, where he held a mix of sales, marketing, and strategy positions at the European level. He previously gained early exposure to the graphic arts industry spending 10 years at Agfa, both in the UK and at company headquarters in Mortsel, Belgium.

In 2010, Preskett was appointed the first digital-supplier President of the now defunct Ipex global print trade show in the UK. He pioneered Canon's entry into commercial print at the Ipex shows, resulting in the 2010 show having more floorspace taken by digital suppliers than offset. He stepped down prior to the 2014 Ipex after the organisers had moved location from Birmingham's NEC to London Docklands - resulting in an exodus of several major exhibitors.
