Avery Dennison officially opened its new distribution centre in Moorabbin, Victoria, designed to meet the changing needs of graphics converters and installers in Australia and New Zealand.
“Our new distribution centre in Melbourne demonstrates our commitment to creating a more sustainable world,” said Jordan Leach, business director, graphics solutions, ANZ and ASEAN, Avery Dennison.
“This facility is not only built to empower us to be more responsive to changing customer needs, but it is also purpose-built for sustainability. As we grow, we shall continue to be a force for good to our industry, stakeholders, and local communities.”
The facility has a 152kW solar system installed on-site, a rainwater collection system for reuse in toilets and irrigation, and LED lighting throughout the office and warehouse.
During the construction of the distribution centre, low volatile organic compounds (VOC) paint, carpets and sealants were used. To reduce the need for water and electricity, the centre uses recycled water in its sprinkler tank and has skylights in the office and warehouse to let in natural light.
Several key operational and business functions including Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support, Laboratory, and Warehousing are located in the facility.
Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions provides imaging materials and service solutions for fleet, architecture and transportation markets.
