Women in Print board members Kellie Northwood, Sandy Aspinall and Lisa Blachut are all stepping down from their roles and a recruitment drive is underway for a new board officer and SA and/or WA Patrons. In October 2022, Northwood was named CEO of national print association the PVCA.
“We come before you with both a sense of duty and optimism as we announce significant changes within the Women in Print Board,” says a press release from Women in Print. “Our commitment to diversity and inclusivity remains unwavering and it is with great pride that we usher in a new era for our association.
“Change is a vital aspect of growth, and we are privileged to have had the dedication and passion of Sandy Aspinall, Lisa Blachut, and Kellie Northwood as our esteemed Board Officers. They have steered our ship with dedication and resolve, and for that, we are immensely grateful.
“Sandy Aspinall, SA Patron, has been a steadfast presence on our board, contributing tirelessly to our cause. Her departure from the Board is bittersweet, but as she herself acknowledges, we must make room for fresh perspectives and ideas. Sandy's continued support is invaluable, and we're pleased to know she will remain a part of our vibrant community.
“Kellie Northwood, our Honorary Secretary [pictured right], has been a driving force behind Women in Print's success. While stepping down from her role, she emphasises the importance of maintaining our industry's positive communities and providing support for women. We echo her sentiments and will continue our involvement in managing the Secretariat to ensure that our mission continues.
“Lisa Blachut, WA Patron, has been a beacon of strength and leadership for almost seven years. Her role has been instrumental in building a strong network within our community. As Lisa transitions from her role, she leaves us with the confidence that our new appointments and incoming talents will carry our message of gender equity and equality forward.
“For the first time, Women in Print will welcome an independent Board Officer recruited through Women on Boards. This exciting addition presents an opportunity to draw insights from beyond the print and communications landscape, enhancing the purpose of our association.
“We remain committed to promoting gender equity and providing access to development programs for women in our industry. We welcome any candidates across SA and/or WA should you be interested in Patron applications.”
