The programme known as 'Onigiri Action 2024' provides school meals to children in Africa and Asia. Onigiri are Japanese rice balls and the organisers encourage people to upload photos of them being consumed to raise hunger relief funds.
Epson has once again become an official partner of "Onigiri Action 2024." The annual campaign is organised by Table for Two International (TFT), a non-profit organisation working to solve global food problems.
The level of hunger in the world remains high. The United Nations estimates that the number of hungry people in the world in 2023 will reach up to 757.2 million.
According to a report by the UN in July of this year, even though there is enough food produced to feed everyone on the planet, one in 11 people does not have enough to eat and is in a state of hunger.
Epson provides environmental, social, and economic assistance with the aim of achieving sustainability and enriching communities. Among these, Epson has set out nine actions to be taken, and since 'eliminating inequality' and 'supporting children' are in line with the very purpose of the Onigiri Action, Epson decided to sponsor the Onigiri Action again this year.
Epson continues to work with customers and partners to solve societal issues and enrich both people and the planet.
