Front and centre on Mimaki’s PacPrint stand was the Australian debut of the new UJV300DTF-75 printer, which combines the capabilities of UV and DTF printing, resulting in prints that can be applied directly to almost any surface, without compromising quality or detail.

JFX600 Series edit2Whilst its DTF and Eco-Solvent offerings attracted a lot of visitor interest, many still came to take a closer look at the JFX600 Series Large-format Flatbed UV Inkjet Printers

Mimaki logoIdeal for product customisation and value-added printing, this roll-to-roll printer uses a transfer printing method, where the design is printed directly on a glued film, applied to a transfer sheet which is then applied to the object.

The printer incorporates Mimaki’s core technologies, including automatic nozzle check, nozzle recovery function, ink circulation function and anti-collision sensor, to ensure consistent reliability with minimal user intervention. It is also equipped with proprietary silicon film pinch rollers, to addresses issues such as ‘peeling’ and to maintain print stability for the desired quality and accuracy.

Mimaki Claude Ben Carroll Velflex edit2Claudio Zarantonello (left) Senior Marketing Officer for Mimaki Australia, with Ben Carroll Velflex founderLong-time advocate and distributor of Mimaki products, Velflex founder, Ben Carroll, explains: “It’s a really compact press too, so it effectively opens the door to a number of small print shops to turn their hand to garment printing or personalised promotional merchandise and custom decoration of hard goods including drink bottles, bike helmets, hard hats, plastics, metals, and timber products.”

The printer uses a dual-film system (A and B films) with varying adhesive strengths suited to different applications. The format allows users to print multiple artworks in one run—from full-colour digital images to single-colour logos—across continuous rolls. “Because of the process, when the printed product comes off, it’s like applying a premium sticker: you peel the backing off, stick the transfer to the product, then remove the carrier, leaving only the UV ink and varnish bonded to the surface,” adds Carroll.

“You can lay up as many different designs as you want. It's a wide format digital printer, so it can print full colour digital photos or a single colour design: it's completely versatile. You could line up 1000 logos, or you could run one of 1000 different designs. And it's roll to roll, so you can print a 10m print file or you could do it in smaller sections, it's completely up to you.”

Arjen Evertse, Director Sales at Mimaki Europe, comments, “Mimaki led the way with the release of its first DTF printer in 2023, which continues to be incredibly successful within the textile market. Building on this achievement, we are extending the core concept—printing on a film first, then transferring it to surfaces that are challenging to print on directly—to new markets. With the UJV300DTF-75, we have also leveraged our expertise in UV printing to deliver a reliable solution for object decoration, enabling high-quality, durable prints on surfaces that were previously unsuitable for direct UV printing.”

Further expanding its UV offering, Mimaki also showcased its next generation of UV inks, ELS-170 and ELH-100 at PacPrint. The range meets EU’s REACH ‘SVHC’ regulations and is GREENGUARD Gold certified, making it both environmentally and health conscious. The UJV300DTF-75 uses a unique combination of the two: ELH-100 (hard ink) for White and Clear, and ELS-170 (flexible ink) for CMYK, ensuring durability and flexibility.

Print-and-cut eco solvent

Mimaki also gave an Australian debut at PacPrint to the latest iteration of its eco-solvent printer line, the CJV200 series.

JV200 Next Gen PacPrint stand editMimaki heralds the JV200 as 'The Next Gen of Print Excellence'The JV200-160 is a dedicated eco-solvent printer, while the CJV200-160 offers an all-in-one print and cut solution. Both printers lend themselves well to advertising, signage and other Sign Graphics applications, ensuring businesses can meet varied customer needs and empowering them to remain competitive. The compact design of these models also ensures that even businesses with limited space can benefit from the quality offered, as well as the wider array of applications available.

With an effective print speed of 17 m²/h, the CJV200-160 and JV200-160 are built to handle seasonal demands, delivering consistent, high-speed printing even during busy periods. Both models are equipped with the Nozzle Recovery System, which enables operators to substitute unproductive nozzles to maintain print consistency and reduce downtime. This ensures that operators can handle tasks effectively, minimising the need for manual intervention.

The new model features upgraded SS22 ink, which reduces odour by approximately 40% and does not contain GBL, thereby offering improved environmental performance through reduced chemical content, while maintaining high durability, strong adhesion, and vibrant colour. Albeit, the JV200-160 does still support Mimaki’s SS21 and BS4 ink sets if preferred.

The printer includes upgraded printheads for improved reliability and long-term consistency. Available in widths from 750mm to 1.6 metres, the CJV200 is designed for both entry-level users and high-volume professional operations.
