It’s not every day that you get to wrap a Ferrari or two in preparation for the ‘Meguiar Bathurst 12 Hour’, arguably the premier endurance race for GT and production cars, held at the Mount Panorama Circuit, in Bathurst, Australia. But that dream became a reality for a wrap collaboration between LIFTOFF Solutions and Arise Racing GT, with films and some tech smarts supplied by Orafol Australia.

Orafol logo etched 002Whilst achieving a very creditable 4th and 8th place finish in the race itself (run in early February), the Arise Racing GT team would almost certainly have snagged podium position if the judging was based solely on the quality of finish of its Ferraris’ eye-catching livery.

The materials for this project were selected for their performance and durability. ORAJET 3951RA+ ProSlide was used extensively, offering quick Orafol artwork for Ferrari editOrafol artwork for Ferrari application and easy repositionability, as well as extreme durability. ORACAL 970RA multi-layered film with excellent gloss retention, was also used for certain colours, like the Ferrari Red and Light Yellow. The high-performance ORAGUARD 290 laminating film was applied to provide the highest level of UV protection and guard against colour fading.

Matthew Sindel, Director of Perth-based LIFTOFF Solutions signage company, says: “We’ve been working with Orafol Australia for four years now, and with Arise Racing GT also being Perth-based, we’ve had the opportunity to work with them on various vehicle wraps and different liveries. So it made sense for this project - wrapping the two Ferraris 296 GT3 cars - to bring everyone together: Orafol’s film experts, our wrapping expertise and, of course, Arise GT’s first-hand knowledge of the cars and what is important to them.”

Close upAttention to detail is particularly important for motorsport branding“Branding is hugely important in motorsports,” adds Jake Clarich, Arise Racing GT Commercial Manager. “We race in the GT World Challenge Series and the Bathurst 12 Hour and as a Ferrari-backed team, we enjoy huge national exposure throughout the country.”

“We love the Orafol product because it’s great to apply and easy to remove, as we need to touch up the cars throughout the year. They also have a fantastic colour range which allows us to stand out on track.”

Sindel adds: “Ultimately, we chose Orafol film for this project because it’s very hard-wearing, quite dense and good to work with. It also has longevity and sticks quite well.”
