One of Australia’s largest wholesale printers has given its employees a glimpse of its new purpose-built 7000sqm facility at Keilor Park near Tullamarine Airport, scheduled for occupancy from September 2025. A video shows progress on installation of a Komori Lithrone GX40RP and Canon varioPRINT iX3200 and captures the reactions of staff members as they see the huge space for the first time.

With the print news often reporting on closures or print groups in financial crisis, it is refreshing to see CMYKhub’s confident investment in a facility that CEO, Dayne Nankervis admits the company may take 10-20 years to get a return on.

Nankervis says: “In the last five years we’ve invested $20 million in print equipment. We’re not going anywhere: we’re not looking to do anything other than continue to supply to everyone in Australia. Our model is built on small businesses using us and this new factory solidifies that because it is our factory. It gives us the ability to pre-design our workflow.”
The new facility, which even includes 500sqm of office space, is around twice the space of CMYKhub’s current premises in Heidelberg, and offers a single location versus the current makeup that sees the production side of the business spread over six separate locations.
In the video, Michael Ellis, CMYKhub’s HSEQ manager talks of the significant scope for improved Sustainability goals and savings that the new facility offers, expressing confidence in being able to reduce power consumption alone by up to 30% through the use of solar power at the new premises.
This confidence clearly emanates from the top, with Nankervis happy to address invited guests at a recent networking event for partners and suppliers saying: “It’s not just about the new facility, we’ve invested significantly over the past 5 to 10 years and we will soon be moving over 60 machines into the new premises which is a clear indication that we believe in the industry and we’re staying here, and we hope everyone comes along for the ride with us.”
