PrintCom 2012; the show within 3 other shows at Sydney’s Darling Harbour from September 24-26, has added five new initiatives to its format to reflect the changing landscape of Retail, Point-of-Purchase, Signage & Display and Commercial Printing.
Organised by GASAA - the Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia, PrintCom 2012 is co-located with Visual Impact Image Expo; Retail 2012 and POPAI, the Point-of-Purchase retail marketing show. Together, these successful events cover 15,000 square metres of the Sydney Exhibition Centre and draw over 6,000 qualified trade visitors.
“PrintCom this year is situated right in the very heart of the total show,” says Executive Director of GASAA Garry Knespal; “covering halls 3, 4 and 5, we are at the front of hall 4, capturing visitor traffic in two directions – from Visual Impact Image Expo and POPAI with the Retail Expo.”
Knespal went on to describe the new initiatives: “Cloud Street is a row of shell booths dedicated to Cloud, or SaaS, applications. The Cloud, with W2P, represents one of the most exciting ways for print service providers to access advanced applications without the expense of buying software, servers and hiring IT experts. It’s pay-as-you-go, always up to date and can also open up world markets with a 24/7 W2P presence.”
“The Watercooler in PrintCom’s Production Place is just that – we’re placing a few watercoolers in the middle of an open area where software innovators, MIS vendors, workflow and W2P will focus purely on profitable applications. They say many of the best ideas come from ‘hanging around the water cooler’ and PrintCom will have these in abundance.”
“Consumables Concourse is all about new materials for digital printing – and developments in established media such as PVC and PE. Hardware Haven as the name suggests is for digital print and finishing in the A3/B3 format – an area that many signage and display printers are adding to their wide-format services.”
“Output Avenue is for trade printing providers and creative services and is intended to be a showcase for the effectiveness of print in the marketing mixture that today includes social media, online, mobile and other screen-based media.”
Knespal concludes “PrintCom is a great opportunity to give your business a last-quarter boost and is an inexpensive show to participate in. We still have some space available and, with a guaranteed visitor base of over 6,000, the power of the combined shows will deliver leads and business in a very cost-effective way.”
