Water-based UK textile inks supplier MagnaColours has launched an improved bleed blocking ink for use on 100% polyester and other fabrics where dye migration is a problem.

Migration Eliminator V2 prevents the bleeding of inks throughout the printing process. It is a slow drying ink, which Magna said makes it easier to print with, and it provides a softer handle than the previous version.
Other benefits are said to include improved coverage, opacity, flexibility and wash fastness.
MagnaColours managing director Helen Parry said: “We pride ourselves on creating inks that meet the needs of screen printers, so that they continue getting the very best results, and don’t need to resort to using chemical-based inks.
“This new product builds upon our existing Migration Eliminator, providing greater performance benefits. This is just one way we’re ensuring that our products perform as well as, if not better than, plastisol inks, meaning there’s no reason not to choose water-based.”
MagnaColours aims to provide environmentally sustainable water-based alternatives to the chemical-based inks that are widely used throughout the screen printing industry.
Last month the firm launched MagnaPrint Edge, a new ink to facilitate easier printing of multi-coloured designs onto light- or dark-coloured garments.
This followed the November additions of the MultiChrome Pearl and Invisible Ink ranges to its portfolio. Earlier in 2017 it had developed the GNA mark, a new eco-friendly standard for water-based inks used in textile printing.
