DTF moves into 'faux embroidery' market

DTF applications seem unstopable. The latest trend, shown at the just concluded DS Printech expo in Guangzhou China, is to use UV-DTF, thermal powder and raised curing to simulate embroidery - and the results can be quite stunning, in vibrant colour and with finer detail than needlework.

Serendipity Software unveils RGB+Spot colour support, extends achievable gamut

 Australian-based Rip and software developer Serendipity Software, founded by Peter Skarpetis over 30 years ago, has introduced all-RGB and spot colour colour workflow, with conversion for CMYK++ printing at last minute. This preserves RGB gamuts much loved by professional photographers and colour-critical designers, especially in packaging, POS and display advertising.

Epson surpasses 100 million 'no-cartridges' cumulative ink tank printer sales

The cost of ink for inkjet printers has long been in the spotlight. Some printers (not Epson's), with small capacity tri-colour cartridges contain ink that can cost as much as AUD$15,000 per litre. You read that right - ask Techradar.com. Using Epson's high capacity ink bottles can work out at around AUD$264 per litre or less. No wonder over 100 million people have installed them.

RISO announces Intelliglide short-run inkjet packaging line

At the ALL4Pack expo in Paris, France from November 4th to 7th, RISO showed Intelliglide - a very interesting product for short-run cartons, boxes and logistics packaging. It was previewed at drupa on the ToshibaTec stand. RISO acquired ToshibaTec's printhead business earlier this year.
