The latest addition to Agfa’s Onset product line, the Onset Panthera FB3216 is a flatbed press built for high-volume and high-performance jobs, serving the sign, display and packaging communities.

The press offers an integrated, energy-efficient*, staged LED curing approach – two LED units at the front, one at the rear – which facilitates strong adhesion and a wide colour gamut, enabling the machine to produce sellable production quality in 2-pass satin or 2-pass high gloss at 1514 sqm/h or 296 beds per hour.

*instantaneous activation and deactivation means the LED lamps consume no energy during returning passes, load/unload cycles, or while waiting for the next job, therefore using up to 60% less power than previous Onset printer model during printing, and up to 80% less in standby mode: this results both in lower operational costs and a reduced carbon footprint

Agfa’s Onset Panthera also comes with a range of smart automation options, including manual, ¾ automation (laytable + unload robot), autoloader + unload robot, dual robots (loading & unloading), and dual-flex (laytable + dual robots).

Another Pinnacle Product Award winner, the Panthera Autoloader, is an advanced automation system that automates the substrate feeding and handling processes. The Autoloader matches the printer’s maximum speed, reducing labour costs and enhancing operational efficiency. When combined with MAX Bot robotic unloading, it becomes an ideal solution for high-volume print operations in the sign and display and packaging markets.
